PDRA HIRES MIKE CONGDON AS
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF MARKETING
The Professional Drag Racers
Association’s motto in their initial
year of competition was “Failure is
not an option.” Now, the PDRA is
nearing completion of a very
successful inaugural season and making
plans for further growth and success
in 2015. As part of those efforts,
they have hired marketing guru Mike
Congdon as Senior Vice President of
Marketing.
Congdon has been a fixture among stock
car racing for decades, working his
way through the ranks as driver,
crewman, crew chief, business manager
and owner of Congdon Competition. He
brings this multi-faceted experience
and expertise to the budding
possibilities within the PDRA.
“Influencing the career paths of young
drivers has always been a passion of
mine,” Congdon said, alluding to the
focus of his Congdon Competition
business. “I’m excited about the
opportunity to further develop this
relatively new Series just like I
would an up-and-coming driver. I’ve
loved racing of all types for longer
than I can remember, and look forward
to working with the world’s premier

racing organization.”
Congdon’s immediate and long term plans with the PDRA are to “help
build exposure for the Series, and to build mutually beneficial
relationships for companies that want to be involved in motorsports at
the grassroots level. That will give us the opportunity to create even
more exciting events for the fans and participants.
“I look forward to taking on the challenge of helping this young
series grow.”
The PDRA plans to announce their 2015 schedule next week, as well as
make major announcements at their banquet, held in conjunction with
the Professional Racing Industry Trade Show in Indianapolis on
Saturday, December 13 at the JW Marriott.
