WATCH HISTORY IN THE MAKING AT
INAUGURAL PDRA EVENT
The Professional Drag Racers
Association is less than four months
old, yet this breakthrough
organization is about to unleash the
maiden event in what many believe will
soon become a pillar of drag racing
history. With overwhelming support
from sponsors, manufacturers, racers
and fans this fledgling series has put
their stamp on the industry before
ever contesting their first pair of
cars. But that’s all about to change.
On Friday, April 4, 2014 two
high-powered, ground-shaking machines
will line up on the starting line of
Rockingham Dragway for a first round
qualifying pass, a feat that’s been
performed countless number of times.
But this particular pass will alter
history as the PDRA revs its
proverbial engine and lays the
groundwork for an enduring future -
one that will undoubtedly preserve the
legacy of professional eighth mile
drag racing.
The inaugural PDRA Spring Open
National Event will be held April 4-6
at Rockingham Dragway in Rockingham,
NC. Five professional categories: Pro
Extreme, Pro Nitrous, Pro Boost,
Extreme Pro Stock and Pro Extreme
Motorcycle, along with Top Sportsman
and Top Dragster in the sportsman
ranks and two classes of Junior
Dragsters will provide the best in
eighth mile entertainment. Round one
of qualifying begins at 6pm

on Friday with three rounds following
on Saturday at 11am. Then on Sunday
it’s time to crown the first-ever PDRA
Champions as eliminations get underway
at 10am.
Many top names in professional racing
are calling the PDRA home and will be
wowing the NC crowds. The likes of
Champions Joey Martin, Wild Man
Frankie Taylor, Mike Castellana,
Elijah Morton and Eric McKinney, among
many other famous names, will be on
hand at the Spring Open, and having
worked hard all off season on new
looks, more power and the fastest
innovations, they’ll be looking to
make their own history. Racer
pre-registration is currently open and
over 75 teams have already
pre-registered for the race.
Free tickets to this legendary event
are available at www.pdra660.com, but
for those unable to join the action,
the PDRA live feed will be
broadcasting all weekend long.
Special thanks to the many PDRA
sponsors who support the PDRA
initiative.
